    Standing Tall…

With backbone erect, I stand tall with steep control.

Hoping to grow taller and reach my marked goal.

That chalked line seems miles above my outstretched neck,

But, regardless of the distance, I stand tall keeping in check.

I am determined. A woman with a lofty ambition—

To grow in grace and truth—this is my mission.

Eyes fixed on the mark; I aspire and dream great things.

With visions of the supreme, I will soar and rest on His wings.

Excitement cascades from my clothes draped in potential.

Jesus is carrying me—to the mark. His provision is influential.

With chest breathless, I gasp and His air infiltrates my lungs.

Revelation is acquired, from my mouth comes many tongues.

Tears fill my wide eyes, the goal I feared I’d never reach—

Has become a faint star in the distance—a caesura in speech.

Almighty God has triumphed. He has carried this aspirant child.

He has added fuel to this throbbing heart—once meek and mild.

On tiptoes no longer, but standing tall on solid studded soles,

God has turned my darkness into sunlight.

    He has made me whole.

    Esther 5: 1-3

    Esther’s Request to the King

On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing the entrance. When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was pleased with her and held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand. So Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter. Then the king asked, “What is it, Queen Esther? What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be given you.”
