Captivated Child
God, what a pleasure it is to serve you.
I drink from your cup, and I am filled.
What serum is this that you feed me?
In your fire aura I am stilled.
How precious are your words!
You speak and I grow silent.
I cherish each heartbeat pumping in my chest.
I dance and sing in the crevices of the Rock,
For you love extends beyond the east and west.
This is a blessing—to follow you and surrender all,
It brightens my eyes and restores health to my heart.
Your features my Abba do not just charm, God, they enthrall.
Come sweet Savior. Show your power in grief.
Give beauty for ashes. This bounty I seek!
I jump off the waterfall, built on concrete faith.
I lap up the water that reflects your face!
Paint on me elegance. Peace, in the midst of despair.
Write in me your promises. My mouth, Jesus, prepare!
I am ready, hands open, outstretched to the stars,
With visions of love at the thought of your scars.
You place in me a passion so deep, a love so violent, wild.
God, I will walk with you. I am your steadfast, captivated child.

Isaiah 61:3:
To all who mourn in Israel,
he will give a crown of beauty for ashes,
a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
festive praise instead of despair.
In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks
that the Lord has planted for his own glory.
