    Hannah’s Prayer

I’m barren my Lord, lacking sweet promise.

You’ve always said you’d shine on a woman pure and honest.

I’ve been mocked my Lord, paraded through mud.

How I pray the heavens open and your blessings start to flood.

I am on my knees in sheer desperation.

My tears stain the cold stone. Am I in a temple of separation?

All I want is to bring you praise and utmost respect.

And, if it means giving my beloved to you--

In his soul-utter devotion-I will erect.

I have waited dear Lord with deep love to give.

Let your daughter be with child and finally begin to live.

So, I will, Dear God, hope in your unfailing disposition.

I will wait Abba in complete submission.

For your ways are not my own, I lack heavenly judgment at times.

Whatever your will, I will accept it as a plan divine.

Servant to the mighty King—a marksman in his war!

Hear my prayer sweet Miracle Maker. Answer this valiant roar!

    1 Samuel 1:19-20:

They rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD; then they went back to their house at Ramah. Elkanah knew his wife Hannah and the LORD remembered her. In due time Hannah conceived and bore a son. She named him Samuel, for she said, 'I have asked him of the LORD.'
