  • You come in a Dream.

    dreams2

Medal of Honor, you are soldier supreme.

My mind wanders at night. You come in a dream.

Visions of success and potential you cascade,

I’m riding next to you, stallion saddled, in a resolute crusade.

In me you furnish courage and assurance in the dark.

Waking in the morning, new revelation sparked.

I remember your steel armor and voice of thunder power,

Calling on your saints to be prepared in the imminent hours.

Though I lack a steed in reality, your valor thrusts me forward.

In your word, I have defense—a sharp double edged sword.

I will not grow faint in the shadows of the sunset.

For your presence gives me promise to eliminate the threat.

No weapon forged against me has power over you.

Your blood has conquered evil and darkness you subdue.

Living and learning. I’m a pupil of yawning truth.

Fresh smile in the mirror, still reminiscent of youth.

    Mind focused on direction, my hands snatch physical;

But, you remind me blessings come in the invisible.

Through trials in my adolescence, new vision has been gained.

I’m grateful for these hardships-- for your preeminence explained.

God, you are wisdom. Your mercies are made new in the still of the night,

May you always give dreams of strength, acting out in leadership and might!

    Psalm 126

    A song of ascents.

When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion,
we were like men who dreamed.

Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."

The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
