  •  Hope

    (hōp)

[the feeling that what is wanted can be had

or that events will turn out for the best]

Restore to me my Hope in You

Oh Jesus what do I know?

My hopes are fading, shallow, and low.

God my world is crashing piece by piece,

I need your comfort to unleash.

My dreams seem to break and shatter,

    Lord, do my feelings matter?

I question so much what you have ahead,

You have a plan is what you have said.

But it is hard, behind this grief I feel,

And my happiness, the thief did steal.

Restore to me my hope in you,

Oh God hear my cry, my desperate hue.

Encompass me Lord with your love,

Send me unwavering hope from above.

It’s hard to follow and stay firm,

Come down Father and help me discern.

My spirit weeps and feels alone,

Listen Father to my heart’s moan.

I cannot comprehend, because I am man,

But I am searching for your flawless plan.

Reveal your heart to me tonight,

Keep me Jesus in your Holy sight.

    Lord of the entire earth,

God that experienced a virgin birth,

Grant me peace in my pleading heart.

Keep me pure and set apart.

    Father I question you repeatedly,

And you keep extending my horizons beyond what I see.

You return my doubt with your faithful word,

And my cries never go unheard.

    Sacred Father you really care,

And your eternal love is always there.

You hold my grieving body tight,

And my diminishing faith you ignite.

    What a magnificent, invincible fortress,

    Clothed in glory and righteousness,

Oh God, stir a revival in my soul.

It is you, God, I extol.

    Jesus I love you fervently,

You are gracious my Savior for blessing me.

The Lord promises to give us a hope and a future. He never grows exhausted in hearing our fervent and heartfelt cries. We are His precious children and He yearns to give us the desires of our heart. Sometimes life seems unfair and hopeless. However, in our anguish God has not run away from being our shepherd. He has not desired the day of our despair. This earth is full of woes and worries, but the Lord is there. He offers us His vast shoulder to cry upon, and reaches out so we are enveloped in His arms of loving tenderness. In this world we will face disappointment. Just remember the Lord is present in our tears and will never leave us!

    ¯     Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

    ¯     Jeremiah 17:16

I have not run away from being your shepherd;  you know I have not desired the day of despair. What passes my lips is open before you.

    ¯     Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

    ¯     Isaiah 49:15-16

"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
               See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.

…May you walk in His never ending hope this day! May you feel His comfort, care, and provision in your life! Reach out and grab hold of His hand because He desires to lead you into His greener pastures through unwavering faith!

    ------Prayer-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh Lord you are my Unfailing Savior. I will hope and trust in you and your faithful word. You breathe the hope that ignites my life and sets my heart on fire. I desire to walk in your faith this day. Empower me to stand in your hope and wait patiently for you to lead me to the vibrant green pastures. I will follow you and hope in you all the days of my life. For you alone are wise and full of deep grace. I love you and praise your Holy name. Hosanna to God in the Highest!!!

    In Jesus Name Amen

  •           The first week of school has officially ended. It is great to be back in Waco, surrounded by all my wonderful friends. The Lord has blessed this year so much. I absolutely LOVE my roommates. Each girl that I live with is amazing. What the Lord does for his children utterly astonishes me. He has provided such strength, beauty, grace, and compassion in this new forming bond between all of us. I admire so many characteristics in each roommate. They are truly uniquely gorgeous inside and out. I think it is so beautiful how the Lord has fashioned his children so differently from one another. Such strength comes from a design so perfect. Each morning in this apartment has been a refreshing experience. Genuine love fills the air of this house. I awake in sheer joy. Smiles linger in the halls and frame each room in this house. I thank you Lord for placing us all together. What a brilliant Maker you are…when I lack in insight, you give generously and bless beyond comprehension. I cannot thank you enough. I love how in the midst of what seems like a life or death situation at the time—you turn it around. You make all things new. You encompass your children in a whirlwind of provision. We do not deserve such tender care…

But as for me, I will always have HOPE; I will praise you more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation ALL day long, though I know not its measure. I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone. Since my youth O God you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.

    ---Psalm 71: 14-18

  • Tomorrow is a NEW day…

…May we rejoice in this truth…

our GOD is the God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow!

    Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

He never shifts or changes. He is constant. Like the glistening boulders that line the mighty walls of the Grand Canyon…our God is the firm foundation, the rock that stays strong in our failures, doubts, and weakness.

    Psalm 61:2

From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

…May we step out in assurance knowing that God has paved the way before our feet! He has cleared the debris and whispered into our minds “Press on dear children. Frolic in my goodness. Lap up my strength. Rest in me. For when you are weak-then I am strong! Let me reveal to you my majesty. Trust me. Take my hand.”

    2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Each time he said, "My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me. Since I know it is all for Christ's good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

  • There is so much HOPE in the beautiful promises of the Lord. His Words truly breathe life into our yearning bodies. It is so comforting and assuring to me that the Lord has fashioned us and formed us into perfect creations in His eyes. After all, we were created in His image (what a marvelous thought!). Our King adores us and is truly enthralled by our beauty. I do not think it is possible to fully grasp the concept of how deep, long, wide, and high the Father’s love is for us—His love is so vast!

My mother always posed a question to me and my sister  each morning. She would basically ask us, “Girls, who are you?” Initially, we did not know what to say in response to this question. I thought--well, I am your daughter, a girl, a sister, a student—but this was not the answer. She rephrased the question. “Girls, who are you in Christ?” She told us to believe and claim all the promises in His words. All He has spoken and is presently speaking over our lives is promising, encouraging, blessings, and extreme favor! They are there in His word to grasp hold of…but so often we overlook His life-giving phrases! After my mother instructed Kristen and me to search out who exactly we are in Christ…we jotted down promises the Lord has stated in His Word and repeated them out loud to my mother. We would say…

I am precious in the Lord’s sight, bought with a high price. I am beautiful and dearly loved. I am a royal diadem and a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hands. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am radiant in Christ’s eyes lacking no spiritual gift. I am the apple of His eyes and my joy is made fully complete in my Lord Jesus Christ. His beauty encircles me everyday, and His blessings descend upon my life always. He loves me with an everlasting love.

    Psalm 139:17:

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable!

    1 Corinthians 6:20:
you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

    Zechariah 9:17:

How attractive and beautiful they will be! Grain will make the young men thrive,
and new wine the young women.

    John 3:16:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

    Isaiah 62:3:

You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD's hand,
a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

    Psalm 139:14:

    I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
           your works are wonderful,
           I know that full well.

    Psalm 34:5:

Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

    1 Corinthians 1:5-7

For in him you have been enriched in every way—in all your speaking and in all your knowledge—because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

    Psalm 17:8:

Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.

    John 3: 29-30:

The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. He must become greater; I must become less.

    Psalm 32:10:

Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love
    surrounds
the man who trusts in him.

    Psalm 21:6:

Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.

    Jeremiah 31:3:

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

May we be able to look into the mirror and say—“God you formed me in the hollows of your hands. Christ…you did not just mold a simple piece of art when you birthed me into being. You created a masterpiece within me!  I am truly unique and one-of-a-kind!

  • Sweet, Wonderful Maker

    Darkened forest in the snow

    Crowded room before the show

    Some might choose to hesitate

    But I choose to accelerate

For You live inside this heart

To me Your Words they do impart such joy, mercy, and grace…

    Lord you are my maker

    You are my sustainer

My heart no longer faintly beats

    Lord it pumps for you

And I rise in the morning

And fall flat on my face

I thank you for your virtue

That you would choose to take my place

    Sweet, Wonderful Maker you are…

    Sunset hues light the sky

    Lightning flashes in the night

    Leaves encircle one by one

Some might choose to turn and run

But my God who calmed the storm

His love it wraps around this form

    I shall not fear anything

His voice it leads the earth to sing

    Lord you are my maker

    You are my sustainer

My heart no longer faintly beats

    Lord it pumps for you

And I rise in the morning

And fall flat on my face

I thank you for your virtue

That you would choose to take my place

    Sweet, Wonderful Maker you are…

  • LOVE:

    (1) : strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties

    (2) : affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests

    (3) : warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion

    (4) : unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another

    John 15:13:
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends
    .

    1 John 4:9:
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

    John 14:21:
Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

May we Love the Lord God with all our heart, soul, and mind...and love others as Christ loves them...

We love you Father...you are the passionate beat in our hearts!

How deep the Father's love for us,
    How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
    Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
    My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
    Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
    Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
    His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
    I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

  • An update on my life for the summer:

I finally finished Spanish 3 (yea!) and I started Spanish 4 this morning. 10 am comes earlier than you think. I cannot tell you how relieved I am going to be when Spanish is finally over. It is a lot of work learning to speak the language! However, it is going to be very beneficial later in life I am sure. I think it is actually such a blessing to know a foreign language. There is something beautiful about communicating and touching a person’s life that does not speak in your native tongue, and how gorgeous to hear all voices in different dialects and tones to shout the name of the Lord!

Yesterday was a wonderful day, even though it was the hottest day on record. My mom and I woke up early to meet my little sister, Kristen, at her high school (which is my old high school). Kristen’s cheerleading squad left for Waxahachie for their yearly cheerleading camp. So my mom and I drove a van full of anxious high school cheerleaders to Southwestern Assemblies of God, which is where the camp is taking place. It was strange walking into the gym and seeing all the brightly school colored girls lacing up their tennis shoes. It was a familiar feeling. It was hard to think that I was there as a cheerleader three years prior to this experience. It feels like so much longer! It was fun spending the day with all the girls, who were once on the Junior High cheerleading team when I was a High School Senior cheerleader. As I looked at the group of girls I saw youth at its finest display. These girls are truly tender-hearted. It was a joy talking with them and later decorating their rooms with scriptures verses, muffins, megaphones…etc. I cannot wait until Thursday to see their final competition. I know they are working so hard.

This weekend was a blessing as well. I got to spend the day with my wonderful friend Christy. We talked of old times (Elementary School), which was honey to the soul. It is so nice to look back, reflect, and laugh on good times. She seriously cracks me up. It seems as if no time has passed. It felt like we were little fourth graders again…giggling and talking of friends, school, and the future. What a true blessing sweet, godly friends are!!! Speaking of friends…this Friday I am driving to Wichita Falls to see Lauren, another wonderful friend of mine. She is truly a great person as well. I cannot wait to see her. It has been about two months since I have seen her smiling face!

Alright, that was a little update of summer weekly happenings! I will update a bit later. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He reveal his wonders, plans, and provision over your life! He is good and wise, and forever should be the praise of our lips!!! Hallelujah. Praise Him!

    1 Chronicles 16:9:
Sing to him; yes, sing his praises.

    Tell everyone about his miracles.

  • May we Reach for a heart like Christ....

    2 Corinthians 4:6:
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness,"made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

As children stretch out their hands with innocence unknown,

May we, the Lord’s children, truly reach out with that same innocence toward the heart of our Father. May we desire to love as He, Our Maker, loves! May we be transformed from hard-pressed, glazed, glass hearts into a heart of beating flesh. May we search for beauty in the depths of the Lord’s breathing spirit. In an extension of faith—let us hold out our hands and say “Fill us Lord to the brim! Overflow this calloused heart until only You remain!” Let the precious treasure search of our lives be to attain a heart like His! For all riches are found in His Mighty name and steadfast character! We reach for Your heart Jesus. Run over our bodies with Your Holy love. Clear the rust that lines our present hearts and reconstruct a pure love. Our Holy Passion is You!

    Psalm 19:14:
May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart
           be pleasing to you,
O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

    Psalm 27:8:
My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me."
And my heart responds, "LORD, I am coming."

  • May our life songs truly reflect you Lord!

May the inward music of our hearts always

uplift, honor, and lavish reverence upon your holy name!

For you are Great and worthy of so much more than the praises

    our tongues can give!

We sing with heads held high to the Son!

May your brilliant beams warm us and invigorate us.

May our dry bones begin to dance before you!

Breathe your living, rushing power into us God.

We stand in wonder. You are indescribable.

We will forever sing to you…

May our individual life sounds, when played by your hand, resound on the

    shimmering streets of heaven!

A true symphony is heard only when the Master’s hands play the notes!

    Psalm 33:1:

Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

    Psalm 119:120:

My flesh trembles in fear of you; I stand in awe of your laws.

    Psalm 100:2:

Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

  • The beautiful character of our Lord Jesus Christ astounds me. I am truly baffled by the amount of love and faithfulness He alone possesses. He promises, “He will never leave me, nor forsake me.” (Joshua 1:5) In His mighty hand is all strength and power! I am truly minute in the vast greatness of this Everlasting King. I am speechless when it comes to the grace and love of my Father. I come before Him holding up empty hands, and He fills them with goodness and peace. Seeking Him causes my heart to race. I feel so privileged that He would want me to seek His splendor-lit face—and find Him! He meets me in my despair and strokes me with His promises so true! He prepares His children to be like well-nurtured plants and like pillars to adorn a palace in their youth! He bestows so much undeserved favor on those that adore Him.

    *Psalm 144:12
May our sons flourish in their youth
           like well-nurtured plants.
May our daughters be like graceful pillars,
           carved to beautify a palace.

I want to be that beautiful pillar in the palace of the King of kings—to illuminate the darkness with the white light of purity. I want to sparkle as a jewel in Your ravishing crown God—to glisten at the echoes of Your words, because Your words breathe life to your children! You are the WORD Lord God!

    *John 1:14
So the Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father.

May this life I live reflect the goodness you have shown me. I can no longer bottle this emotion and fervent respect. You enable me to climb the heights, to soar on eagles’ wings, to bask in Your glory, and experience Your power! I cannot be silent about what You have done and who You are! You are Beauty. You are Grace. You are Holy. You are Steadfast. You are Healing. You are the Savior! I bow my knees and my life before You. You alone are wise. Move Sweet Savior. Sprout new growth in this child. Rain on us! We long to lap up Your endless integrity and faithful character!

    *Psalm 138:2

I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!
