Bleeding but not Destroyed
I stumble up this mountain, bleeding but not destroyed.
Jesus you are my Rock,
The breadth that fills this void.
You bridged the gap with your precious cross,
So my shallow life would not be counted loss.
You healed my staggering, wandering feet,
And soothed these bleeding cuts so deep.
You washed me in hyssop. You breathed on my pain.
All sorrow and grief from my body you drained.
You filled me with joy with smooth gentle oil.
You gave me clean garments and cleansed the dark soil.
You are the healer, the Restorer of all life.
You bring such safety and dull this cutting knife.
Of worldly pleasures and fears of earthly men,
You give me strength and courage again.
I bow before you, exposed and alone.
You, my God, are like no one I’ve known.
You bring shivers to my body, peace to my heart,
You give stability and a fresh new start.
I wash you with perfume, yet you alone smell sweeter.
You are my God, my fearless life Leader.

2 Corinthians 4: 7-12
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
