  • Take a Picture of My Life

Take a picture of my life. Focus the lens.

It’s bursting with beauty and violent winds.

I’m caught in the meadow of fresh cultured dew.

Swathed in blessing water – wrapped in security true.

For He magnifies my walk and orchestrates my delight.

The God of all the Universe makes my pathway bright.

Flashes of power frame my quick strides.

His mercy and kindness cover his elegant bride.

So, center your camera on my joyful face.

Capture my brilliant smile. It glows because of his grace.

Sweet Photographer, I want you to see –

The true interpretation behind this picture of me.

Once faded - black, white, grey – and dimly lit,

This subject was illuminated by the luster He emits.

Colors became brilliant when I accepted his joy.

Truth became apparent after rejecting the decoy.

You can take a photo of my life. It will be sure to stun.

Outshining all the common clips, it's ignited by the Sun.

A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, thereby, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.  - Ansel Adams

From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth. - Psalm 50:2

  • Crackled Doors

    Crackled doors on creaking houses,

    Severe creases on pleated blouses.

Scuffs of grease on fancy shoes,

    Clean, fresh skin wearing tattoos.

Fallen. Upset. This world is aching.

Smiles and laughs people are faking.

Painted dreams line vessels of clay.

Beautiful aspirations fade day by day.

    Pottery shatters. Water spills out.

Thirst is birthed through harsh drought.

God is needed in this desperate place.

We yearn for his blessing - a solid embrace.

My child, I am here – I’ve never left you in the pain.

Can you see me Dear One? I’m reaching through the rain.

    I know it’s storming, and I know you’re afraid.

Cling to me precious. Hold me in this waterfall cascade.

Your shivers, I’ll replace in due time.

I love you my chosen, please accept this climb.

The day of despair – I did not choose it for you.

You’re throbbing heart, I long to subdue.

My promises can give you strength. My hand –give you direction.

Please take hold of my forearm. You are my affection.

You are my bride, my princess, the apple of my eye.

You are a light in the darkness – a star in the sky.

I’m here my beloved. Though it may be hard to believe –

I will be your pillar always –I know your heart grieves.

Cracked china plates mended with care.

Lungs of dysfunction pumped with clean air.

You make all things new, God.  Your embrace – all I need.

I will look to you, Father - while wading in the weeds.

For you shut the lions’ mouths and still the oceans –

You set hearts on fire and place idle actions in motion.

Faith. I need it. I hunger after this feeling.

Father – I call to you. I need your authentic healing.

    Matthew 10:26-27

So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.

  • Victory Climb

Up in a branch, I gasp and admire–

My beautiful Lord, He rages like fire.

From a distance, I feel his blessings upon my skin.

He emits billowy smoke that I want to breathe in.

Incense with a woodland scent, his mercies are forever new.

I fall on my face daily and praise the sovereignty of you!

You are King, God; Your power is like an electric shock.

It drives me to compassion and plants my feet upon bedrock.

Never faltering, You fix my stance on the promises of your Word.

I will never wander – never stray away from the herd.

For you are the good shepherd; Your rod of discipline gives me skill.

I can brace my body for the climb – and ascend like a warhorse uphill.

Buckled in your providence, I cry out for blessings tenfold.

You prepared my muscles. I’m ready for this road.

    1 Samuel 14:9-11

If they say to us, ‘Wait there until we come to you,’ we will stay where we are and not go up to them. But if they say, ‘Come up to us,’we will climb up, because that will be our sign that the LORD has given them into our hands.” So both of them showed themselves to the Philistine outpost.“Look!” said the Philistines. “The Hebrews are crawling out of the holes they were hiding in.”
